Why we gather

Same mission.A bigger tomorrow.

For most of this journey you've done the work at home, on a screen, often alone. This is the weekend that changes that.

Connect, Grow & Thrive Live is two full days in one room with Catherine, Bill and Tracey, and parents from across the PACT community. The P.A.R.E.N.T. Method taught in full. Workshops where you choose your track. Table groups, a guided release, open Q&A, and a personal 90-day plan you write before you leave.

In June 2026, PACT families gathered at The Waterstone in Boca Raton for the first Connect, Grow & Thrive Live. February 2027 is our second year, and we intend to make it our best one yet. Together.

You are not doing anything wrong. You've just never been handed the right framework.

Parenting an adult is a different relationship than parenting a child. It requires a different framework, one almost no one is taught. This weekend is what comes after everything else hasn't worked.

Catherine Hickem, LCSW · Founder of PACT
Before you read another word

Built for three kinds of people in the room.

Parents carrying a strained or distant relationship with an adult child. Couples ready to do the work side by side. And the therapists who walk this road with families every day.

one

For Parents

You've tried the conversations, the therapy, the books. You're ready for a framework that actually holds, and the inner work that goes with it.

two

For Couples

When one parent is doing the work and the other isn't, the whole effort stalls. The United Front track gets you pulling in the same direction.

three

For Therapists

Clinicians who sit with estranged families. A clinician-only roundtable with Catherine and the P.A.R.E.N.T. Method clinical companion guide.

This is for you if…

  • You've been carrying this quietly for years, maybe a decade or more. It isn't a new wound. It's a long, soft ache.
  • You and your adult child are either strained-but-in-contact, or there's been little to no contact for a long time.
  • There's an empty chair at the holidays, or a grandchild you barely know.
  • You're not looking for a quick fix. You're ready for a real framework and the inner work that goes with it.
  • You've quietly wondered whether this is just how it's going to be. And you're not willing to accept that.

This is not for you if…

  • You're in active, volatile conflict that needs crisis intervention first.
  • You're looking for tactics to "win" an argument with your adult child.
  • You're not prepared to do the inner work alongside the strategy.
What the weekend is built on

People. Purpose. Possibility.

one

People

You'll sit beside parents who understand the silence, the missed holidays, the carefully worded texts. No explaining needed. No judgment offered.

two

Purpose

Every session comes back to the question the P.A.R.E.N.T. Method starts with: what is inside your control, and what will you do with it?

three

Possibility

Not a promise of reconciliation. A clear, practical picture of your next right step, and the steadiness to take it when you get home.

What you'll walk away with

Not inspiration. A plan.

01

A proven framework

The P.A.R.E.N.T. Method, taught step by step. The same framework that has guided thousands of parents through reconnection.

02

Tools to break the cycle

Practical language and skills for the next hard conversation, so you stop repeating the pattern that hasn't been working.

03

A united approach with your spouse

The United Front protocol, so you and your partner stop quietly working against each other.

04

A room full of parents who understand

Two days in the company of people who know exactly what you've been carrying. You are not the only one.

05

A personal 90-day plan

Your exact next steps, written down. A plan you can execute the Monday after.

06

Hope you can actually feel

Grounded in a framework that works, not in wishful thinking. The kind of hope that holds on a Tuesday in November.

Led by

Three voices. One framework.

Two days learning from people who have walked this work with thousands of parents.

Catherine Taylor Hickem, LCSW
Founder of PACT · Creator of the P.A.R.E.N.T. Method · Keynote

Catherine Hickem, LCSW

Catherine has spent over forty years as a psychotherapist — she's a Licensed Clinical Social Worker — and more than twenty as a family and executive coach, sitting with families in their hardest moments.

She also lived it. Twenty years of distance with her own father ended in reconciliation, and that experience is why the P.A.R.E.N.T. Method starts where it does: not with what your adult child needs to change, but with what's inside your control.

Bill Robison, MA
Relationship Coach · The United Front

Bill Robison, MA

Bill co-leads PACT's couples program, The United Front, which helps parents get aligned as a team before they ever re-engage their adult child. He speaks plainly to the reality most couples recognize but rarely name: when one parent is doing the work and the other isn't, the whole effort stalls.

Tracey Robison, LPC-MHSP
Co-Leader · The United Front

Tracey Robison, LPC-MHSP

Tracey brings a parent's perspective and hard-earned wisdom on marriage, parenting, and what it looks like to show up as a unified couple through the hardest seasons of family life. She speaks with the warmth of someone who has sat where you sit, and the clarity of someone who has found a way through.

Voices from the PACT community

Parents who stopped waiting for their child to change first.

I have gotten some wonderful new tools… It begins with me. I was gifted to have them and now, through your work, this gift can be opened again and again. It was shut because I shut it.
Donna
My biggest win has been becoming much more aware of my own thoughts, reactions, and the role I play in my relationships. I'm learning to pause before I respond, respect boundaries, and focus on what I can control.
Diana
It was so empowering and encouraging… It's giving me courage to get ready to have a conversation with my daughter.

Questions

The things parents ask us before they register.

What if I come without my spouse?
Many parents attend alone, and the work still lands. You'll leave with the framework, the 90-day plan, and plenty of language to bring home. If your partner is willing and able to come with you, the Couples VIP tier was built for exactly that reason. Alignment at home is often the piece that accelerates everything else.
Is this faith-based?
Catherine has a Christian coaching background, and that perspective quietly informs her work. The event itself draws on universal principles about relationship, repair, and parenting adults. Parents of every faith tradition, or none, are genuinely welcome. You won't be asked to share beliefs you don't hold.
What if my adult child won't speak to me right now?
This is exactly who the event is for. Many attendees arrive in silence with their child and leave with a framework for re-opening the door, gently, without pressure, in a way that respects your child's pace. We don't promise miracles. We do promise you'll know what to do on Monday.
Is this just another conference where I'll leave inspired but not changed?
We share your skepticism. That's why the weekend is built around a workbook you actually finish, a 90-day plan you walk out with, and a 30-day follow-up call to keep you honest. Inspiration evaporates. Structure holds.
Is this therapy?
No. This is an educational event. It provides educational content and is not therapy or a substitute for licensed mental-health care. Reconciliation depends on many factors, including the participation of others, and no outcome is promised or implied.
Are meals included?
Lunch is included both days for all attendees. The Saturday welcome dinner with the speakers is included for VIP and Couples VIP. Coffee and refreshments are available throughout both days.
Will the sessions be recorded?
Yes. Professional recordings of every session are included with VIP, Couples VIP and the Therapist Pass. General Admission attendees can add recordings after the event.
What's the refund policy?
All ticket sales are final. We do not offer refunds, credits, or transfers. This policy allows us to plan the intimate, high-touch experience the weekend requires. If you have questions about whether this event is right for you, please reach out to our team before registering.
What should I wear?
Business casual. Bring a light layer, since Florida air conditioning has a mind of its own. Saturday's welcome dinner is slightly elevated. Nothing formal required.
I'm still not sure if this is right for us. Can I talk to someone?
Please do. A short conversation with our team is the best way to tell if this is the right room for you, and if it isn't, we'll say so. Email info@parentingadultchildrentoday.com and we'll set up a call.
Onward.

You've been doing this alone for long enough.

Two days in a room built for this. A framework that holds. A plan you walk out with. And the quiet relief of sitting among people who understand, without having to explain a thing.
